Search Engine Optimisation

SEO: Be found when people search for what you do

Search Engine Optimisation, SEO, is the work of being found when someone types what you do into Google. Not tricks to game the algorithm, but the durable version: a site that is technically sound, content that answers the questions your buyers actually ask, and the authority that makes Google trust you over the alternatives.

SEO has a bad reputation, and it earned it. A decade of agencies sold keyword stuffing, bought links, and monthly reports full of numbers that went up while enquiries did not. We do the opposite. The work that lasts is unglamorous (fix what is broken, answer real questions well, earn genuine mentions) and it compounds over time. We will tell you what is worth doing and what is a waste of your money.

The three parts of SEO

Most of SEO comes down to three things. Get all three right and the rankings tend to follow.

Technical SEO

The foundation: a fast, crawlable, well-structured site that search engines can read and index without tripping over. The cheapest wins are often hiding here.

On-page and content

Pages that match what people search for and answer it better than the competition. The right structure, the right depth, genuinely useful rather than padded.

Authority and links

Earning links and mentions from places that matter, so Google trusts you. The honest way, not bought links that earn a penalty instead.

SEO and GEO are not rivals

Roughly eighty per cent of what gets you cited in AI answers is good SEO, so this is the foundation that work sits on. We run the two together where it makes sense: get the fundamentals right for Google first, then add the brand-authority layer that AI engines reward. One body of work, two payoffs.

SEO is the foundation, GEO is the layer on top. Done together, the same work earns you rankings in Google and citations in AI answers. More on the AI side in our generative engine optimisation service.

How it runs

We start by finding the cheapest, fastest gains, then build from there. No twelve-month contract before anything improves.

1

Audit and baseline

Where you rank now, what is broken, and the opportunities worth chasing. An honest assessment, not a sales document.

2

Fix the foundations

Technical issues first, because they are usually the quickest and cheapest gains available.

3

Build the content

Pages that target real searches with real intent, structured to rank and to read well.

4

Earn authority and measure

Genuine links and mentions, tracked against rankings, traffic, and the metric that actually matters: enquiries.

Who it is for

SEO is worth it when there is demand to capture and you are not capturing it.

You are not showing up. People search for what you do, and you are nowhere to be found.
You rank for your name and little else. People who already know you find you; people who do not, never will.
You have been burned before. A previous agency sold you reports full of vanity metrics rather than results.
You want search and AI handled together. One job covering both Google rankings and AI visibility, not two separate retainers.
You want number one overnight. No one can promise that honestly, and anyone who does is selling something. We deal in durable gains.

Where it fits

SEO sits on the website it improves, so a website design review is often the quickest way to find what is holding your rankings back. It pairs directly with generative engine optimisation: the same fundamentals that rank you in Google are most of what gets you cited by AI, so we usually run the two together.
